I finally got a chance to play with some items from the new catalogue on the weekend - and it was awesome. I am completely in love with the new in colours - especially Tip Top Taupe and Delightful Dijon. There's just something about them that I think I'll be using a lot - both for versatility with other colours, and as stand alone stand outs.
Here's a quick little card I made using 3 of the new colours - Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, and Tip Top Taupe. I also used the fringe scissors which I've had for a really long time but haven't really been that inspired to use. I absolutely love the fringing on this card though - so expect to see me using them a lot more.
The cake was stamped in Stazon black ink so that I could water colour it. I don't water colour very often. I think I've always had a mindset that you could only make old fashioned, vintage style cards, but I've started to see a few card popping up that have a much more modern take - so I think it's my challenge to incorporate it more. I'd love to see more cards with it. If you've made a card using watercolouring share a link in the comments. I'd love to see it.
Happy crafting.
