It's been a while since I've made a 3D project, but when I was looking over some of the early posts on my blog I realised I used to love spending the time to create an extra layer of gifts beyond just a birthday card. It was my friends birthday recently and I thought it was the perfect time to revisit my love of creating 3D paper projects.
I wanted to give her the gift of cards as she's a natural encourager and loves writing notes to people to inspire, thank them and encourage them. I didn't want to just wrap them so I decided to create a cute handbag out of card and designer series paper as a little something extra.
It opens up completely so that you can slide the cards and envelopes in and out. It also stands upright on its own.
I didn't have any velcro to keep it closed but I just made sure the creases were really strong (yay for bone folders) and it didn't really need it. It took some time to make, but it was really fun to combine the maths and engineering needed to figure out the measurements and get this right as well as the creativity to make it pretty. I think more 3D card projects will be in my future.
Happy crafting.
Sally
PS - Only one more day until the new catalogue arrives, but you can still grab some of these items online in my store.
